Bloodline

Bloodline

One facet of meaning for the term “bloodline” has to do with the linage of physical inheritance and the mysterious way that God utilizes genetics to produce unique individuals. Both the unique individual and unique inheritance flow from this bloodline.

Jesus has the most unique bloodline of all! All Divine. All human. He inherits eternal purpose as well as expected prophecy. Who He is fulfills both. Jesus cannot do what He is destined to do without being who He was destined to be. Bloodline.

He is called “son of David” because He is from the “root of Jesse” that produces a unique bloodline of physical inheritance as the only proper vessel for a unique bloodline of eternal purpose. He is “the Lamb slained before the foundation of the world.”

Jesus is born into a natural lineage from David so He is natural heir to David’s throne. Jesus is born into a brand new manifestation of the Father as heir of all because He who created all, redeems and all.

Only eternal purpose can produce eternal life; only eternal life can fulfill eternal purpose.

In Christ, we become eternal – life, inheritance, purpose. In Christ, we take on a new bloodline of spiritual life, a genetic seed of eternal life, a DNA of spiritual sonship. We are not born of a virgin to acquire it, but He is. We are born of water to earn it, but He is. We are not born of blood, bloodlines of man, to have it flowing in our veins, but He is.

In Christ, we are born anew, from above, born of spirit, born of wind from mystery into mystery, we don’t know where it comes from or where it is going, but we know it is there!

Romans 1:3: God promised this Gospel for a long time through his prophets in the holy writings. It is the good news about his Son, Jesus, who came as a man, born into King David’s royal family line. And Jesus Christ our Lord was revealed to be God’s Son when God powerfully raised him from the dead by means of the Holy Spirit. Through Christ, God has given us the privilege and authority to tell Gentiles everywhere what God has done for them, so that they will believe and obey him, bringing glory to his name. You are among those who have been called to belong to Jesus Christ.

Paul describes His human nature: “Made of the seed of David” because He is born of the virgin Mary, into the house of David through both parents. Although He conception is Divine, He is born a king by bloodline. David received special promises about Messiah, 2 Sa. 7:12; Ps. 132:11, when compared with Lu. 1:32, 33 reveal the importance of Mary and Joseph naturally to Jesus’ destiny and purpose.

His divine nature: “Declared to be the Son of God”, by eternal generation, or, as it is here explained, “according to the Spirit of holiness.”

“According to the flesh he was of the seed of David.” “According to the Spirit of holiness,” He is of the creative manifestation of God, having the divine nature (as he is said to be “made alive by the Spirit,” ( 1 Pt. 3:18, compared with 2 Co. 13:4), He is God’s Son. This is revealed without any further, fuller revelation by the demonstration of “his resurrection from the dead.”

John 1:12-18: But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. But whoever did want him, who believed he was who he claimed and would do what he said, He made to be their true selves, their child-of-God selves. These are the God-begotten, not blood-begotten, not flesh-begotten, not sex-begotten. The Word became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighborhood. We saw the glory with our own eyes, the one-of-a-kind glory, like Father, like Son, Generous inside and out, true from start to finish. John pointed him out and called, “This is the One! The One I told you was coming after me but in fact was ahead of me. He has always been ahead of me, has always had the first word.” We all live off his generous bounty, gift after gift after gift. We got the basics from Moses, and then this exuberant giving and receiving, This endless knowing and understanding – all this came through Jesus, the Messiah. No one has ever seen God, not so much as a glimpse. This one-of-a-kind God-Expression, who exists at the very heart of the Father, has made him plain as day. [The Message]

Acts 20:32 says, And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified . Acts 26:18 says, To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

Ephesians 1:10-14 says, And this is his plan: At the right time he will bring everything together under the authority of Christ — everything in heaven and on earth. Furthermore, because of Christ, we have received an inheritance from God, for he chose us from the beginning, and all things happen just as he decided long ago. God’s purpose was that we who were the first to trust in Christ should praise our glorious God.  And now you also have heard the truth, the Good News that God saves you. And when you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago. The Spirit is God’s guarantee that he will give us everything he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people.

Verse 18: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened ; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints.

Ephesians 5:5 says, You can be sure that no immoral, impure, or greedy person will inherit the Kingdom of Christ and of God. For a greedy person is really an idolater who worships the things of this world.

Colossians 1:12 says, always thanking the Father, who has enabled you to share the inheritance that belongs to God’s holy people, who live in the light.

Colossians 3:24 says, Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and the Master you are serving is Christ. Hebrews 9:15 says, That is why he is the one who mediates the new covenant between God and people, so that all who are invited can receive the eternal inheritance God has promised them.

1 Peter 1:2-4 says, God the Father chose you long ago, and the Spirit has made you holy. As a result, you have obeyed Jesus Christ and are cleansed by his blood. May you have more and more of God’s special favor and wonderful peace. All honor to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, for it is by his boundless mercy that God has given us the privilege of being born again. Now we live with a wonderful expectation because Jesus Christ rose again from the dead.  For God has reserved a priceless inheritance for his children. It is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay.

Compound word Kleronomia= kleros, portion or lot, and nemo, to hold, is first the activity of dividing by lot, then the portion so divided, the inheritance. The kleronomos is one who has been given a kleros, the inheritor. synkleronomos is a fellow heir, and kleronomeo means be an heir, inherit.

Hebrews 1 says, Long ago God spoke many times and in many ways to our ancestors through the prophets. 2 But now in these final days, he has spoken to us through his Son. God promised everything to the Son as an inheritance, and through the Son he made the universe and everything in it. 3 The Son reflects God’s own glory, and everything about him represents God exactly. He sustains the universe by the mighty power of his command. After he died to cleanse us from the stain of sin, he sat down in the place of honor at the right hand of the majestic God of heaven.
