Kingdom Culture and Reformation

Talking Kingdom Culture

I have been preaching, teaching, and writing about kingdom culture now for twenty years. The reference points to “kingdom culture” were pretty sparse when I started. They are increasing in influence as we approach the Roaring Twenties and the New Era Reformation.

I am not saying that I am the source of that trend, but I am saying I anticipated it when I was discussing it. Kingdom culture is essential to the Reformation. I am not saying I feel left out when credit is given for this discussion reaching a more significant proportion, but I am saying that repeatedly talking about it marks the trend that will lay the foundations for the greatest reset of the kingdom since the Incarnation.

A discussion of the kingdom of God now includes the term, “kingdom culture.” A discussion of the influence of the kingdom in the Earth consists of a discussion of kingdom culture. A discussion of the original design and definition of ekklesia consists of a discussion of kingdom culture.

Also, any sensible discussion of kingdom leadership dynamics – the fivefold list of apostle, prophet, teacher, evangel, and shepherd – includes a discussion of kingdom culture.

Habits of the Heart

Jesus says, “I will etch My laws upon their hearts,” when referring kingdom reset He inaugurated with His own blood. Jesus says, “I will establish habits of the hearts, so individual lifestyle is part of a greater kingdom culture.”

Jesus sets the norms of the kingdom culture, and that is what He meant by “seeking first His righteousness as well as His rule. The Ruler has rules. The Kingdom has a kingdom with cultural principles, processes, and protocols.

Habits speak of learned behaviors. Heart speaks of disciplined passion. The words mean, “Love God with all your heart” and “If you love Me, keep My commandments.” The words explain the Great Commission, “Disciple cultures. Baptize individuals to a new lifestyle. Train them all to obey what I have commanded you.”

The kingdom culture is not language, literature, and leadership per se while all three are needed to establish and expand a culture. God provides all three to establish and expand His culture. God provides all that is required to build the lifestyle in individuals and the culture for the entire kingdom.

Reformation

As we enter the New Era Reformation more fully, the exodus of tens of millions of believers from modern church-anity will provide for a rapid reset of the kingdom and its culture through the rise of a representative, radical, regional Remnant in every fathering nation on Earth.

We have a restoration. We do not have a Reformation.

I have contended that we cannot have a Reformation without a reset of kingdom culture. I say, “We have lost kingdom culture, and we do not know that we have lost it.” I also contend that the most violent shift in all of history will occur during the Roaring Twenties, the greatest decade in the history of mankind.

We do not have a restoration of kingdom leadership function at the foundational level because we attempted to install the apostolic restoration into modern church-growthism instead of the kingdom of God. We do not have a fuller restoration because we do not begin with the church and subcultural church-anity to reset the kingdom of God. Moreover, we do not measure success in the kingdom of God as we measure success in church-growthism.

The mobility of believers from church-anity to kingdom culture will be the most significant spiritual migration since the Day of Pentecost. God wants everybody, but He never starts with everybody. God begins with a representative, radical, regional Remnant.

That reset has already started, but momentum will depend upon the re-establishing of kingdom culture in a time when talking about kingdom culture baffles most people.

We have lost kingdom culture, and we do not know we have lost it.

All that is needed is one spiritual generation in which fathers and inheritors turn hearts – not minds but hearts – so the habits of the heart of a kingdom reset and culture are re-established. In one generation, we can restore all that has been lost.

This will be the greatest Reformation of history!
